A new blog? What is this about?

Updated: Feb 16

Hi moms!  Welcome to my new blog :)

If you know me or have followed my IG page @myreasonismykids, you will notice that I tend to quote the famous series Sex And the City, as often as I can.  Carrie Bradshaw and company have been my lifeline since my single life of dating in my twenties.

Challenge 1:  Can you find my discrete shout outs to SATC in my videos on Instagram?

I honestly used the experiences from my girls: Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda as a tool to understand the dating world better.

While marriedI never let go of my jam and even my babies knew the opening tune because it played in the background so often (and is still my ringtone!).

I found myself post-divorce going back to the series to watch these episodes and the two movies with a different lens; in learning to date again, live again and love myself again.

This version of Tracey is one that values honesty and loyalty in all of my relationships and friendships.  I require healthy relationships and peace in my life and do not have room for anyone or anything that conflicts with that peace. It’s been a very long and difficult journey to get to this place.  Now that I am here, I want to turn around and help the next mom.  This is why I decided to become a certified divorce coach.  You can find out all about that here on my website: www.myreasonismykids.com.

You will see that my coaching has everything to do with keeping a child-first mindset while navigating the rough emotional waters of divorce. My goal in coaching is to pass on my tools to you so that your children turn out on the other side of the divorce with as little trauma or negative effects as possible In fact, I often educate on how it’s not only possible for the kids to alleviate trauma, based on your approaches, but rather to thrive with YOU, mama!

Ok, but here on this blog, Divorcée in the City, we are channeling you and moving on as a woman.  I’ll discuss the dating world post-divorce as a mom ‘out there’ again.  I want to share my mistakes that I’ve made along the way but also the very positive turns that life can take, if you allow it.  Here on the blog I will share my tips on recreating the new you!  Together, we will embark on the journey of the healthiest version of yourself. 💜
